Client Services Director (Account Director, Account Supervisor)
Scope of Job
The Client Services Director will lead the strategic planning and business development for assigned active client accounts, as aligned with the high-level strategic business goals, plans and objectives defined by EMG Executive Management. Directional Client Services initiatives to be overseen by this role include a variety of strategic marketing, communication and technology-related roadmaps and strategic plans as needed to develop active client accounts, business development opportunity identification and scoping and client education initiatives to support client sustainability. This role will also orchestrate the collaborative development of solution budget estimates, proposals, presentations and statements of work for active client business development opportunities. Finally, the Client Services Director will work proactively and in a fully integrated way with relevant project managers and team members as well as active clients to ensure 1) client needs and expectations are understood, met and / or managed fully, 2) strategic client satisfaction measures are fulfilled and 3) project scope is managed and change orders and project enhancements are identified and scoped in a timely manner.

Specific Role Responsibilities
- Lead EMG’s Account development initiatives for assigned active client Accounts.
- Participate in the development of all EMG deliverables at a high level, providing ongoing feedback, advising and documentation, as needed, for the project team to ensure alignment with client and contract goals in advance of client delivery and during the revision and finalization processes.
- Serve as the Account lead and primary client Account contact for assigned accounts.
- Conduct regular client status meetings to ensure client engagement and satisfaction, resolving any issues with project manager and other functional teams efficiently and in a clearly communicated way.
- Conduct regular EMG account status meetings and develop supporting briefs to ensure project team is aligned with client goals, objectives and expectations, resolving any issues with project manager and other functional teams efficiently and in a clearly communicated way.
- Qualify active client business development opportunities by analyzing the client’s needs and developing a potential business approach to their needs collaboratively with members of EMG’s strategy, media, technology, creative, project management and leadership teams.
- Orchestrate and lead the scoping of active client solutions, developing engagement roadmaps, proposals, budgets and statements of work collaboratively with members of EMG’s strategy, media, technology, creative, project management and leadership teams.
- Manage active client lead / opportunity data within EMG’s SalesForce CRM, ensuring data is complete and up-to-date and readily reported to Sr. and Executive Management.
- Contribute strategy and content to outreach and prospecting presentation materials, including but not limited to PowerPoint presentations and case study, brochure and portfolio content.
- Collaborate with other SMEs to direct and conduct ongoing customer and relevant vertical research to assess client needs, relevant best practices and business development opportunities.
- Collaborate with Business Development group on new business and client outreach / prospecting and pitching initiatives.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing groups in developing networking and field marketing programs.
- Represent the company at various events and/or business meetings to promote the company.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years Account Direction / Management and / or Account-level Strategic Planning experience at a marketing agency serving clients in the Higher Education, Healthcare, Insurance, Financial Services and / or Entertainment industries
- 3+ years Business Development experience in a marketing communications agency
- Expert written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional customer service and thought leadership skills: outgoing personality, well spoken and great at giving presentations and leading meetings
- Exceptional contract documentation, negotiation and change management skills
- An eye for trends and new, innovative opportunities
- Strong judgment, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of sales data management within a CRM such as SalesForce
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce quality materials and results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
Education
- BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Must travel to satellite offices to maintain presence and connection with team members in various locations as needed.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
