Client Background & Needs

Banner Health’s Cardon Children’s Medical Center provides comprehensive, family-centered care with a state-of-the-art facility featuring 248 beds and specially trained nurses and doctors. While preparing to open its doors in late 2009, Banner Health’s Cardon Children’s Medical Center selected EMG to develop an online interactive environment for children and parents to learn about what to expect and how to prepare for a visit to Cardon Children’s Medical Center.

EMG Approach & Solution

To provide a fun and engaging experience to users, EMG developed the Cardon Children’s KidZone website (www.bannerhealth.com/cardonchildrenskidzone) to incorporate customizable characters, eight instructive and fun games and virtual video tours of the hospital with audio capabilities throughout the website’s three primary sections, including Before Your Visit, During Your Visit and After Your Visit.

Each part of the visit contains educational and entertaining information on topics such as what to pack in preparation for the visit, a sneak peek of the people the patient will meet during their visit and how the patient can stay in touch with staff at Cardon Children’s after their visit. The During Your Visit experience is the centerpiece of the site, featuring all there is to do and experience within Cardon Children’s Medical Center itself, including custom games on MRIs, Xrays and other common procedures and treatments.

Engineered for families to become familiar with medical terms and procedures in an intuitive, entertaining way to enhance their Cardon Children’s patient experience, the Cardon Children’s KidZone fully extends the outpatient, inpatient and surgery day experience online.
