LOS ANGELES, CA – On Thursday, September 22nd multi-talented members of the Earthbound Media Group (EMG) team performed live on-stage for the first time together as EMG Speedwagon at The House of Blues Sunset Strip in ThinkLA’s AdJam: Battle of the Agency Bands. One of nine advertising agency bands, EMG was the only Orange County-headquartered agency participating in the competition. After weeks of rehearsal, EMG Speedwagon took the stage with great excitement and delivered an energetic and soulful performance true to the competition’s 1950s/1960s theme.
“Representing EMG at the world famous House of Blues was motivation enough, but the fact that we were the only agency representing Orange County really made us want to give our everything as we performed for over a thousand attendees made up of personnel from some of the biggest agencies in Southern California,” said Healthcare Client Services Director/EMG Speedwagon Lead Singer Camille Strickland. “We had an amazing time engaging in friendly competition with the other agencies and are proud of what we accomplished. Putting together a solid music set and entertaining stage show took our team’s creative collaboration to another level and we really look forward to next year’s competition!”
The night’s three finalist were selected by the judges based on musical ability, difficulty of song, stage performance and musical transitions. The bands representing agencies BLITZ (BLITiZen Kane), Ogilvy (Culver Jones and the Ogiltones) and RPA (The Rupos) were selected as the night’s finalists. From there, the winner was selected based on audience applause and the very noisy House of Blues crowd selected The Rupos as the best agency band.
While EMG wasn’t selected by the judges as a finalist, the agency’s band – along with the other eight bands – put on a great show that made for an excellent night of entertainment. To view video of EMG Speedwagon’s performance, visit Earthbound Media Group’s YouTube Channel.
