EMG Wins 2 Gold MarCom Awards

IRVINE, CA – Earthbound Media Group (EMG) was recently honored with two Gold MarCom Awards for outstanding creative achievement by the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals. The award-winning projects include EMG’s new corporate website and the search engine marketing campaign website developed for The Art Institute of California – Orange County. EMG also earned Honorable Mention recognition for its viral marketing video titled “Ultimate Ninja” – one of six comedic online advertising spots developed for client Kofax Software.

“It is great to have the quality of our work acknowledged with these two Gold MarCom Awards because we do work very hard to create the best user experiences possible to meet our clients’ business goals,” said EMG Art Director Robert Dorsey. “I also believe this recognition emphasizes our conceptual and creative range as well as our ability to effectively reach both B2B and B2C audiences.”

The EMG website received a Gold Award in the Web Site Home Page category for its fresh new design that incorporates custom icons and graphics, high resolution photography and rich media elements. Representing today’s best practices in integrating user-friendly interfaces, adaptive content and sound information architecture,  the new website is also noteworthy for its search engine-conscious design and content optimization. It also integrates Web 2.0 functionality by incorporating top-level navigational flash menus, advanced search capabilities, viral widgets and RSS feeds.

EMG's second Gold Award came from the competitive Microsite category for its strategic, lead generation microsite developed for client The Art Institute of California – Orange County. This makeover of The Art Institute of California – Orange County’s web presence gives prospective students an overview of the school’s degree programs while incorporating intuitive navigation, rich media and search engine optimized content.

EMG’s “Ultimate Ninja” video, developed for client Kofax Software, rounded out EMG’s 2008 MarCom honors, earning Honorable Mention recognition. One in a series of six comedic spots produced in-house to promote the features of Kofax’s Virtual ReScan (VRS) software, the 30-second commercial features a ninja-turned- office employee who accidentally makes a mess of his coworkers’ reports only to have the crumpled papers instantly scanned and corrected by Kofax’s VRS software.

This year companies and individuals in the United States and several foreign companies submitted more than 5,000 entries in the MarCom Awards competition. Entries were judged at random and each was reviewed and discussed individually by experienced professionals who evaluated the work in terms of quality, creativity and resourcefulness.
